FAQ'S

How long will it take to get my job printed and delivered?

Doppler Printing offers quick turnaround on jobs printed on our top-of-the-line digital printer. Typically, it takes one to three business days. For larger print projects with higher quantities and more complex binding, it takes four to ten business days. (We encourage all our customers to allow enough time for all their projects). Don’t forget extra delivery days if you are outside greater Edmonton.

What are your minimum print quantities?

For our digital press we have no minimum. For our offset press, we recommend running a minimum of 3000 8.5” x 11” prints, or 1500 11” x 17” prints. With printing, much of the cost is in setup. So the greater the quantity printed, the lower the cost per unit. If you are wondering what quantity is best for your situation, we can give you a variety of quantity options on your estimate.

What kind of files does your print shop accept for print?

The best kind of files are those that are industry standard, and don’t require any additional work from us to prepare your files for print. Design files like PDF, InDesign, Illustrator, and Quark are best. Files like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher aren’t suited for commercial printing, and will likely need some work to get them ready for print. Speak to your Doppler Printing rep early in your project about what kind of files you’re working with and we can advise.

What kind of proofs should I expect?

All orders will be sent a PDF file to approve if requested. (Make sure to review all proofs carefully).

How do I make sure the colours I pick will be the same when printed?

We encourage all of clients to use design professionals (like ours here at Doppler Printing) who use industry standard software to help match intended colours to what shows up on print. The North American print industry uses the Pantone© colour matching system to ensure colours picked at the design stage look very close to the colours printed in the final piece.
